About the Club

The Club at New Seabury is located in the New Seabury community in Cape Cod, and overlooks the Nantucket Sound. Privately owned and situated on 2,000 acres, the Club offers 36-holes of golf on its Ocean and Dunes courses, a 42,000 square-foot clubhouse, a beach pavilion with snack bar, waterfront Popponessett Inn with restaurant and tented event space, Beach Bar and Lounge, newly constructed Athletic Center with Café, private beach access, active social and junior programming and 24 keys for lodging. The Club does allow the public to dine in its facilities and to book events, however, there are areas and amenities of the Club that are reserved for members only. There are 780 members that enjoy all that this multi-campus, family oriented, waterfront property has to offer. Food and beverage revenues total over $5 million annually and across all outlets, with 50% of those revenues generated from private events.

The Club is open approximately nine months of the year, with golf available year round on the Dunes course, weather permitting. The Club’s Fitness Center and the new Athletic Center is open to members year round, with tennis and aquatics operating seasonally.

About the Position

Under the direction of the President and General Manager, the Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for the professional and efficient management of all front of house food and beverage operations in all outlets of the Club, including the oversight of club events and private functions. The Director of Food & Beverage ensures the highest quality dining and event experience through directing excellent and consistent service and through successful coordination with the culinary department. He/she will manage in a seasonal and multi-outlet environment, with a focus on member and guest relations and service. The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for the planning and implementation of department related budgets and cost controls, hiring, training, staff development, scheduling and supervision of FOH staff.

Reporting to the President and General Manager, The Director of Food & Beverage will lead a team that includes three Dining Room Managers, two Bar Managers, and the Athletic Center F&B Manager and will supervise approximately 60 FOH staff members. The Director of Food & Beverage will maintain cooperative relationships and look forward to working closely with the Executive Chef, VP of Operations and the Director of Catering.

Key success factors of this position will include the ability to positively lead and motivate a team in a seasonal environment as well as expertly train staff to deliver excellent member and guest dining experiences. The Director of Food and Beverage will look forward to working closely with the Executive Chef in shaping appealing dining programming that resonates with the membership and guests and drives usage and will be expected to be proactive in ensuring budgetary goals are met. This position will also be expected to evaluate, refine and implement SOPs, training plans, effective inventory and cost control methods and any other systems to create a high functioning food and beverage department.

About the Ideal Candidate

Top talent must be skilled and experienced in budgeting, staffing and scheduling, modeling labor costs, cost controls, and be knowledgeable and passionate about food, wine, spirits and service. Excellent candidates will have a track record of success in developing and implement training plans, and developing and leading a team of service-focused staff ideally in a seasonal operation; a leader, coach and motivator who will be accountable and hold the team accountable. The successful candidate must embrace living the coastal Cape Cod lifestyle and culture. A combination of private club and resort experience is highly desired; candidates must have multi-outlet food and beverage management experience and be comfortable and effective in moving across outlets with simultaneous dining and events occurring.
