The Athletic Club of Columbus | Columbus, Ohio
General Manager

About the Club

The Athletic Club of Columbus is Central Ohio’s premier private city club founded in 1912 by a group of business professionals interested in promoting both social and athletic endeavors. It is an integral part of the Columbus business and political communities serving as a haven for individuals, families, and business professionals. The Club provides a 5-star experience and exquisite, comfortable surrounds, state-of-the-art exercise facilities, fine dining options, innovative and social programming for members and their families, eight overnight guest rooms, and elegant banquet and meeting space.  Members enjoy reciprocity with more than 120 domestic and international private clubs.  Gross revenues are $8 million, with food and beverage sales of $2.8 million. There are 130 year-round employees. The Club enjoys an active membership totaling 1,480.

With more than 40,000 square feet devoted to well-being, the Athletic Club of Columbus is one of the region’s best health and fitness centers. Club facilities provide for fitness, basketball, squash, aquatics and running.  Additional amenities and programs include: three restaurants, a café, nine banquet rooms, an indoor heated pool, bowling alley, whirlpool, steam rooms, massage therapy, weight and cardio rooms, sporting leagues, junior programs and childcare. An extensive renovation of the Club’s restaurants on the first floor was recently completed.

The Club’s six-story clubhouse spans 108,000 square feet and is an example of Spanish Renaissance Revival with Italian influence. The building was dedicated in 1915 and has seen very little change since its opening. In early October 2011, the Club was officially named to the National Register of Historic Places.
