About the Club
Located on North Cat Cay just south of Bimini in the Bahamas, Cat Cay Yacht Club is an exclusive private, member-owned club that provides an exceptional and relaxing island community experience. The island has been owned by the Club’s members since the 1950s. Over the years, Cat Cay Yacht Club has managed to combine the best features of private island life with the infrastructure of a major resort, having its own utility plants – making and distributing water, electricity, waste management, and developing the island’s trade services that include carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and maintenance service providers.

Members and their guests enjoy amenities that include a P.B. Dye 9-hole golf course and practice area, tennis courts, swimming pool, casually elegant dining and bar service, 118-slip marina, white sand beaches, island exploration, Club sponsored social events, and family programming.

The Club is open year-round with peak periods during the summer, weekends year-round, and on U.S. holidays. The island is located 50 nautical miles from Miami, Florida. There is a satellite office in Fort Lauderdale where the Club’s accounting office is based. Gross revenue annually is $10 million with Food and Beverage accounting for $1 million and annual dues of $3.5 million. There are currently 177 total memberships.

About the Position
The Club Manager reports to and works closely with the COO/Island Manager and is responsible for overseeing daily club operations with particular focus on Housekeeping, Food and Beverage, Front Office, and Marina operations. The Club Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Club in the absence of the COO/Island Manager and will perform specific tasks as requested by the COO/Island Manager including assisting with the development of long-range (strategic) and annual (business) plans, operating reports, forecasts, and budgets. He/she is expected to be highly visible, meeting and greeting members and guests during their visits to the Club and ensuring the amenities and services of Cat Cay Yacht Club are delivered to a standard of maximum member and guest satisfaction in an atmosphere of hospitality, friendliness and congeniality. The Club Manager has overall supervisory responsibility for the employees within the departments under their purview, including providing training, development, performance measurements, and general direction for staff members.

The Club Manager is expected to manage the above areas of responsibility consistent with the direction and policies established by the Board of Directors, as well as the By-laws and Rules and Regulations of the Club. This role serves as a Club representative in the Cat Cay and greater Bahamian community.

About the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of six years of related hospitality industry and/or private club experience with at least three of those years in a managerial role. It is preferred that he/she will have private club experience however, candidates from luxury hotels/resorts or from similar high-end hospitality operations will be considered. Caribbean island working experience is also highly beneficial for this role.

The next Club Manager will have a professional career record of achievement and relative employment stability with excellent managerial, leadership, and interpersonal skills. He/she will be an inspirational leader with excellent customer service and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex operations environments and have an engaging, friendly, and energetic style and level of congeniality that allows him/her to be well received and accessible. He/she should genuinely enjoy being with the members, guests, and staff and have knowledge of managerial requirements for Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Retail and Front Office operations, Membership, Events and Marina operations. The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain composure and remain organized in high volume and high stress situations, possess a sharp eye for detail, and have strong planning and communication skills.

A college graduate with a specialization in Hospitality Management or related concentration is preferred, however possessing professional club industry certifications along with relevant work experience is also beneficial.
