About the Club

Coral Creek Club is located in Placida, Florida at the entrance of Gasparilla Island between the Gulf of Mexico and Gasparilla Sound.  Gasparilla Island is home to Boca Grande, known internationally as the tarpon capital of the world. Coral Creek Club was first organized as a private Club in 2000. Following 2003, Coral Creek Club was purchased by a private ownership group. The current ownership purchased the Club in 2006 and has retained possession though present day.

The Club facilities are comprised of a complex including the 17,000 square foot Clubhouse built in 2007, housing administrative offices, Men’s and Ladies Locker Rooms, two bars, two dining rooms, an expansive back patio and event lawn. The Golf House is the original clubhouse, a 3,000 square foot structure adjacent to the practice facilities and golf course. The golf course maintenance complex is separate from the Clubhouse and Golf Shop.

Tom Fazio laid out the 18 hole course at Coral Creek Club. Coral Creek Club’s golf course is known as one of the best in Florida and has enjoyed a ranking within Golf Digest’s Top 30 Golf Courses in Florida. Bordered by picturesque Coral Creek, a salt-water estuary flowing to the Gulf of Mexico and a 6,000-acre nature preserve, the 211-acre golf course rolls gently through southern pines, oaks and palms around deep blue lakes and picturesque, high flashing bunkers that guard the greens. The course offers water views over the mangroves on several golf holes, views that make the golf experience at Coral Creek unique among the best golf courses in Florida.

In April of 2020, Tom Fazio will execute a $2.5 million renovation of his original design to be completed in summer and reopening in the fall of 2020. Resurfacing the greens, tees and fairways and renovation of the bunkers to capillary concrete are priorities in the project.

Coral Creek Club is owned privately and is overseen by ELV Associates, Inc. The Club operates under the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer Concept. The General Manager/COO reports directly to Ownership through the owner’s representative, ELV Associates.  An elected member Advisory Committee and appointed committees represent the membership and support the activities of the Club.

The Club is open seven days per week in season; aspects of the facilities are closed on Mondays.

About the Position

The General Manager/COO is responsible to ELV Associates and Ownership, performing all duties necessary in the proper management and control of the property and business affairs of the Coral Creek Club to attain targeted results. He/she works with ELV Ownership to shape the strategic direction of the “club experience” and operations. Delivering a first-class member and guest experience in golf, dining and club-wide that is reflective of member preferences and feedback, industry trends and best practices while achieving budgeted goals will be a critical measure of success in this role.

Managing all day-to-day operations, the General Manager/COO is responsible for the administration of employee matters, accounting, financial, and the Club’s community relations and shaping the quality of the Club’s amenities and services to ensure excellent member and guest satisfaction. He/she is accountable for the performance of the management team and staff and for all operating performance measured mostly by member satisfaction. The management team consists of the Head Golf Professional, Clubhouse Manager, Controller, Membership Director, and Golf Course Superintendent.

The General Manager/COO also oversees the management, marketing and sale of ELV Associates owned properties within the Coral Creek Club community. This includes the positioning of ELV Associates real estate assets in the marketplace, valuation of assets and developing a rate of return on real estate assets through their sale.

About the Ideal Candidate

The General Manager must be a creative leader who is highly personable to engage with the sophisticated membership and can direct, coordinate, and control all facets of a premier full service, high-end private club. The successful candidate will be an established Club chief executive with strong financial acumen and a career track record managing highly regarded private golf clubs and/or country clubs. Success in creating an outstanding service culture and member experience as well as knowledge and passion for food, wine, and service and experience shaping excellent dining offerings is highly desired.

Candidates should be a college graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management or equivalent. Professional Certifications (CCM, CCE) or similar professional development achievements are highly desired.
