About the Club

Coral Creek Club is located in Placida, Florida at the entrance of Gasparilla Island between the Gulf of Mexico and Gasparilla Sound.  Gasparilla Island is home to Boca Grande, known internationally as the tarpon capital of the world. Coral Creek Club was first organized as a private Club in 2000. Following 2003, Coral Creek Club was purchased by a private ownership group. The current ownership purchased the Club in 2006 and has retained possession though present day.

The Club facilities are comprised of a complex including the 17,000 square foot Clubhouse built in 2007, housing administrative offices, Men’s and Ladies Locker Rooms, two bars, two dining rooms, an expansive back patio and event lawn. The Golf House is the original clubhouse, a 3,000 square foot structure adjacent to the practice facilities and golf course. The golf course maintenance complex is separate from the Clubhouse and Golf Shop.

Tom Fazio laid out the 18 hole course at Coral Creek Club. Coral Creek Club’s golf course is known as one of the best in Florida and has enjoyed a ranking within Golf Digest’s Top 30 Golf Courses in Florida. Bordered by picturesque Coral Creek, a salt-water estuary flowing to the Gulf of Mexico and a 6,000-acre nature preserve, the 211-acre golf course rolls gently through southern pines, oaks and palms around deep blue lakes and picturesque, high flashing bunkers that guard the greens. The course offers water views over the mangroves on several golf holes, views that make the golf experience at Coral Creek unique among the best golf courses in Florida.

In April of 2020, Tom Fazio will execute a $2.5 million renovation of his original design to be completed in summer and reopening in the fall of 2020. Resurfacing the greens, tees and fairways and renovation of the bunkers to capillary concrete are priorities in the project.

Coral Creek Club is owned privately and is overseen by ELV Associates, Inc. The Club operates under the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer Concept.

The Club is open seven days per week in season; aspects of the facilities are closed on Mondays.

About the Position

The Director of Membership is responsible for all aspects of membership sales and positioning Coral Creek as a premier private golf club in the region. This includes recruiting high quality prospective members and expanding awareness of the club locally, regionally, and nationally. The Director of Membership provides facility tours, entertains prospects, hosts awareness events for potential members, and manages the new member onboarding process.

This is a relationship building role that will leverage the incredible membership to identify potential new members while developing relationships with prospective members independently. The Director of Membership will facilitate on and off premise membership development events serving as an ambassador and representative of the Club and identify and network with comparable private golf clubs to promote the Club, identify membership candidates, and to meet with prospects referred by the membership.

The Director of Membership must be visible and accessible to members and their guests and participate in select community activities to represent and promote the Club. Candidates must be willing and able to work a varied schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Compensation:  The Club will offer a competitive compensation plan, along with standard benefits.

About the Ideal Candidate

This position requires a highly self-motivated and highly personable sales professional with a natural ability to network and engage with a sophisticated membership and prospective members. Enthusiastic self-starters who are performance oriented with a track record of achieving results against a sales plan with specific goals are highly desired. Candidates should have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

Ideal candidates will have experience with and/or access to high net worth individuals and influencers, and will demonstrate experience and success in membership recruitment for high-end private clubs. Experience working with realtors as well as an appreciation and understanding of the game of Golf is preferred.

Candidates should have a college degree or equivalent education and experience and a minimum of five years of experience in outside sales and marketing, preferably in the hospitality, private club and/or golf industries.
