About the Club
Founded in 1989, Hammock Dunes Club is an oceanfront private golf club community in the beautiful city of Palm Coast. Situated between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, the Club overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and offers members luxury amenities and activities including two Audubon-certified golf courses, a resort style swimming pool and state-of-the-art fitness center, beachside croquet courts, tennis, bocce, and pickleball courts, and exceptional dining. Hammock Dunes Club offers membership to residents and non-residents of the community. The Club is known for a relaxed, yet refined atmosphere.

Hammock Dunes Club is managed by a nine-member Board of Governors. The Club has been named both a Distinguished Emerald Club of the World and a Platinum Club of America. Hammock Dunes Club’s private golf membership offers two outstanding championship golf courses – the Tom Fazio Links Course offers 18 relaxing holes with stunning oceanfront views, while the Rees Jones Creek Course meanders through 690 pristine acres of native oaks, palms, wetlands, and marsh. Members also have access to two private golf clubhouses. The Links Clubhouse is over 40,000 square feet and includes a resort-style heated pool and spa, fitness center, golf shop, and a variety of indoor and outdoor dining options. The informal, yet elegant “low country-style” Creek Clubhouse is nestled in a natural setting and includes a casual restaurant and bar, screened porch, and golf shop.

Gross revenue exceeds $11 million with Food & Beverage accounting for $2.3 million. There are 140 staff members at the height of season.

About the Position
The next CFO of Hammock Dunes Club will work as an integral member of the management team and supervise the accounting and financial operations of the Club. The CFO will report to the GM/CEO and will have clear “ownership” of day-to-day financial operations of the Club, while working closely with the leadership team on the achievement and maintenance of the Club’s vision.  In addition, the CFO will provide financial leadership contributing to the goals of the Club’s business and financial objectives.

In addition to leading all financial functions in the operation, the CFO will work with the GM/COO to lead the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.  The next CFO will identify annual initiatives and budget objectives, presenting plans and recommendations to the Board for approval.  These plans will be backed with reasoned, well-conceived tactics.

The CFO will maintain all accounting records and is responsible for development, analysis, and interpretation of all financial and operating information.  He/she will prepare monthly interim financial statements and quarterly reports to the membership. In addition, the CFO will evaluate operating results in terms of costs, budgets, and policies of operation, trends, and increased profit possibilities.

About the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have eight years of professional of experience as a CFO in a similar size business with a preference for some in a similar, private, member-owned premier club, preferably in a gated residential community. He/she will have hospitality and/or Non-Profit experience and a verifiably unblemished career track that demonstrates a record of ethical and consistently professional behavior. The next CFO of Hammock Dunes Club will be knowledgeable in “best accounting practices” in a top performing organization and have knowledge of computer literacy with experience in accounting/point of sales software systems, specific knowledge of Northstar System.

The ideal candidate will have excellent financial skills, with the ability to quickly assimilate numbers and reports. He/she must be knowledgeable regarding typical club financial issues of funding, cash flow and project analysis and is aware of critical benchmarking and financial metrics that lead to a proactive response to trending curves. The next CFO of Hammock Dunes Club will have exceptionally strong communication and facilitation skills, both written and verbal, with the appropriate personal presence, desire and ability to interact effectively before diverse constituencies of members, staff, vendors and other people who are part of the success of the Club.  It is important that he/she has experience in coordinating and overseeing the financial aspects of major club improvement projects, especially as these relate to construction and renovation projects including working from consensus building to design development and execution of plan to budgeted expectation.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA is required. MBA preferred.
