Innis Arden Golf Club | Old Greenwich, Connecticut
Head Golf Professional

About the Club

Innis Arden Golf Club is a private member-owned club located in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. The Club was established in 1899 by the Scottish financier and sportsman, J. Kennedy Tod, as a nine-hole golf course on the east side of Greenwich Point. Additional land was purchased in 1925 to expand the course to 18-holes. Today, Innis Arden is a family-centric club that offers an array of services, amenities and programming in dining, golf, tennis, platform tennis, swimming, diving, water polo, and fitness.

Over the past few years, the Club has made significant capital investments to enhance the Innis Arden member experience. In 2021, the Club began construction of a new 47,392 sq.ft. state of the art clubhouse which is slated for completion in Spring 2023. Recently completed renovations include four paddle courts and a paddle hut, a Pool House with a two-lane bowling alley, a state-of-the-art fitness center, locker rooms, a lounge area with a TV and fireplace, and an outdoor viewing deck. Other amenities include an 18-hole golf course, seven Har-tru tennis courts, four of which are covered for winter play, and an Olympic size pool. Club dining amenities include the 1899 Bar room for lunch and dinner, an outdoor terrace overlooking the 1st fairway, and the Sound Beach Room for family dining and private parties.

The 18-hole Ken Dye golf course is a par 70 and measures 6,300 yards. Recent golf renovations include expansion of the driving range and changes made to holes #1, 9, and 18. In 2022, a new short game area was added as well as a new 18-hole putting green and practice range.  The New Clubhouse will have two state of the art golf simulators providing a year-round golf experience for members and for teaching.

The practice range has Turfhound mats as well as 50 yards of grass to hit from. There are five target greens and a state-of-the-art teaching facility with a grass tee and two indoor/outdoor bays with video systems located at the far end of the range. Golf programming includes over 60 tournaments for 9- and 18-hole ladies, men, juniors, and mixers. Some of the bigger events include Men’s and Ladies Member-Guests, Twilight Golf tournaments and Club Championships.

Innis Arden has hosted many qualifying events as well as several championships. Most recently, the 2014 and 2016 Met Senior Open Qualifying and the 2010 Westchester PGA Match Play Championship were held there. The Club hosts “The Mitch” Lincoln Pro-am with 120 players from all over the Metropolitan area annually. It is named after Innis’ longtime PGA Professional William A. Mitchell and helps support a scholarship for assistant professionals in his name.
