About the Club
Founded in 1930, Kenwood Country Club is situated on 450 acres just northwest of Cincinnati, Ohio in the township of Madeira. Kenwood CC is a family oriented and member-owned Club boasting an excellent reputation for spectacular events, fine and family dining along with an extensive array of activities and events to attract all ages.  Kenwood CC’s spacious clubhouse is 98,000 sq. ft. and was recently renovated in 2016 as part of an extensive club-wide project.  This Centennial project added a new 3,000 sq. ft. fitness center, a 19th hole bar and dining room, an updated men’s locker room and remodeled golf shop.

The swimming pool and diving complex with a bar and café also were recreated into an attractive resort style complex in 2016 as part of the Centennial project.  Racquet sports includes six tennis courts; four clay and two hard courts (which may be set up for pickleball) and four platform tennis courts for winter play.

Kenwood Country Club offers two championship golf courses with distinctly different playing experiences, a top-flight caddie program, teaching clinics and programs and newly renovated driving range, indoor teaching and short game areas.   A full renovation of the popular Kendale Course just reopened this summer.  The Club has a long history of championship golf, including two USGA Championships, the 1933 National Amateur and the 1963 U.S. Women’s Open.

This member-owned club is operated solely for the benefit of its members and enjoys an outstanding reputation as the finest family club in Ohio. Kenwood Country Club operates under a Chief Executive Officer leadership model and the Director of Golf will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

About the Position
The Director of Golf is an employee of the Club and will also serve as the Chair of the Golf Committee. S/he will work closely with the Vice Chair of the Committee who serves on the Board of Trustees, and other committees which represent the interest of the membership as it relates to the game of golf.  The Director will lead a dedicated staff of 25 (in season) which includes a head Golf Professional, Assistant Golf Professionals, Director of Instruction, Merchandise Manager, Golf Interns, Golf Shop, Bag Room and Range staff. It is expected that the Director of Golf either directly or indirectly be responsible for activities and outcomes in all aspects of the Golf Department. This includes not only day-to-day operations, but future consideration for long term planning and staff development. In addition, the Director will work with the Chief Executive Officer to develop and regularly review the business plan and operational budget for golf operations and ensure that written correspondence, reporting, newsletters and communications for the Golf department are timely, accurate and compelling with the ultimate goal of promoting the game of golf.

About the Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidates will be PGA Golf Professionals with a minimum of five years or more of professional golf management experience as a Director of Golf or Head Professional in a well-respected, full-service country club. Multi-course experience is highly desired.  The candidates will also have a career “track record” of achievement and relative employment stability.  Other requirements include:  Experience managing or owning a green grass retail operation with sales volume of at least $500,000, experience and success in recruiting, developing and retaining an outstanding professional staff and excellent caddie program; experience instituting new and innovative member experiences and hospitality practices; expertise in instruction and player development at all levels; an expert at the Rules of Golf; and a demonstrated love for the game.
