About the Club
The Summit Club is a privately owned private golf and country club located among 156 acres of picturesque woodlands in the heart of Armonk, NY. The Club’s Vision is to be a 21st Century lifestyle community with golf, tennis, fitness, and wellness within a resort-like environment where members will enjoy first class hospitality and services. In July 2021, the Club celebrated the official grand opening of its Rees Jones renovated golf course as phase one of a comprehensive master plan that will include extensive recreational and fitness amenities, a new clubhouse, and 73 luxury condominiums.

Originally designed in 1961 by Albert Zikouras, The Summit Club golf course has been the integral part of a private club for almost 60 years. The golf course recently received a thorough redesign by world-renowned architect Rees Jones. Today, it is a visually stunning par 71, 6,700-yard golf course with dramatic elevation changes and long-distance views of the Westchester countryside that presents challenges for the better players and a fair test for the average golfer. Golf programming is designed to make golf fun and exciting for the whole family within a relaxed resort-like atmosphere, where the member experience is the number one priority.

A state-of-the-art pool and fitness facility is scheduled to open in the summer of 2022, and a contemporary new Clubhouse is slated to break ground in 2023. The modern Clubhouse will feature traditional spaces associated with a premium country club in balance with the contemporary vision of the private club lifestyle. This will include casual dining, private meeting space, locker rooms, bar/lounge, golf shop, open spaces, work-at-your-club enclaves, music, family-friend fun, and more.

About the Position
The Membership Director reports to the V.P. of Operations and is responsible for all aspects of membership sales to maximize recruitment and acquisition of new members. Responsibilities include developing and implementing member referral and lead generation strategies, maintaining a robust and sustainable pipeline of prospective members, interfacing with realtors, and building relationships, and participating in community activities to represent and promote the Club.

The Membership Director provides facility tours, entertains prospects at the Club and off-site, hosts awareness events for potential members, and manages the new member onboarding process. He/she plans his/her work schedule to be visible and accessible to members and their guests.

Candidates must be willing and able to work a varied schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

About the Ideal Candidate
This position requires an outgoing and highly personable and self-motivated sales professional with a natural ability to network and engage with membership prospects, current members, and the community. An effective communicator, both written and verbal, who is adept in relationship building and developing networks of prospective members and member referral sources.

To be successful in this role, candidates should have an affable personality with a presence and gravitas and demonstrate a commitment to the Club’s vision and progressive culture to represent it effectively in all interactions with members, prospects, sources, guests, and staff. Enthusiastic self-starters who are performance oriented with a track record of achieving results against a sales plan with specific goals are highly desired.

Candidates should have a college degree or equivalent education and experience and a minimum of five years of experience in outside sales, preferably in the hospitality, private club and/or golf industries. Experience working with realtors as well as an appreciation and understanding of the game of Golf is preferred.
