About the Club

The Club at New Seabury is located in the New Seabury community on Cape Cod and overlooks the Nantucket Sound. Privately owned and situated on 2,000 acres, the Club offers 36-holes of golf on its Ocean and Dunes courses. The Oceans Course, designed by William Mitchell in 1962, is a par 72 that measures 7,131 yards with a slope/rating of 136/75.7. The Dunes Course is a par 70 and measures 6,021 with a slope/rating of 125/70.0. The two course combined host 22,000 rounds annually. Renovations are currently being made to the Dunes course and are planned for the Oceans Course in fall 2019. Additional golf amenities include: a pro shop located in the clubhouse; a twelve-acre practice facility with two expansive grass hitting areas; a two-acre short game area; and a 20,000 sq.ft. putting green with a 100 yard bunker. The Club has approximately 415 golf members and offers a robust schedule of golf events as well as private and group instruction for adults and juniors.

Additional clubamenities include a 42,000 square-foot clubhouse, a beach pavilion with snack bar, waterfront Popponessett Inn with restaurant and tented event space, Beach Bar and Lounge, private beach access, active social and junior programming and 24 keys for lodging. The Club recently completed a 9,000 square foot athletic center that features a pool, tennis courts, dining, and a state-of-the-art fitness center complete with workout areas, sauna, and steam room.

The Club is open year-round; golf is available year round, weather permitting on the Dunes Course.

About the Position

The Director of Instruction provides outstanding, hospitality-driven service and is responsible for creating an atmosphere of learning and continuous improvement to foster and maintain interest and enthusiasm among all member and player segments at the Club at New Seabury.

Core responsibilities include organizing, budgeting, developing, promoting, scheduling and conducting golf instructional programs that meet the members’ interests, demands and needs. He/she is responsible for all facets of golf instruction that takes place on Club property including daily clinics, private instruction, junior golf programs, PGA Jr. League, and club fitting.

This is a seasonal position from May to October that reports to the Director of Golf.

About the Ideal Candidate

Candidates should be PGA Class “A” certified and TPI certified with a minimum of eight years or more of professional golf management experience with a minimum of four years as a Director of Instruction. This experience should have been achieved largely at a respected, full service, country club or high-end resort delivering a premier golf instruction experience.

Candidates must have a hospitality service mentality with expertise in instruction, the game and business of golf, player development initiatives, and a demonstrated ‘love for the game of golf.” Candidates must also be capable of using golf management, point of sale, and player development software.

Ideal candidates are engaging and approachable golf professionals who are well-received and accessible to a wide range of members with varying dispositions and playing skills.
