About the Club

The Club at New Seabury is a private club located in the upscale and charming seaside community of New Seabury on Cape Cod overlooking the Nantucket Sound. Privately owned and situated on 2,000 acres, the Club features 36-holes of golf on its Ocean and Dunes courses, a 42,000 square-foot clubhouse, a beach pavilion with snack bar, waterfront Popponessett Inn with restaurant and tented event space, Beach Bar and Lounge, private beach access, active social and junior programming and 25 keys for lodging. The Club recently completed a 9,000 square foot athletic center that features a pool, tennis courts, dining, and a state-of-the-art fitness center complete with workout areas, sauna, and steam room. The Club does allow the public to dine in its facilities and to book events, however, there are areas and amenities of the Club that are reserved for members only.

The Oceans Course, designed by William Mitchell in 1962, is a par 72 that measures 7,131 yards with a slope/rating of 136/75.7. The Dunes Course is a par 70 and measures 6,021 with a slope/rating of 125/70.0. The two course combined host 35,000 rounds annually. Renovations are planned for the Dunes course in spring 2018 and the Oceans Course in spring 2019. Additional golf amenities include: a pro shop located in the clubhouse; a twelve-acre practice facility with two expansive grass hitting areas; a two-acre short game area; and a 20,000 sq.ft. putting green with a 100 yard bunker.

Recent capital improvements include the Athletic Club, a new 9,000 square foot fitness and pool center. Renovations planned for 2018 include the clubhouse and Dunes Course. Renovation to the Oceans Course is planned for 2019.

The Club is open approximately 12 months of the year; golf is available year round, weather permitting on the Dunes Course.

About the Position

The Director of Membership serves as a key Ambassador to the Club with a full understanding and commitment to the Club’s culture and standards of quality.  He/she will be responsible for all aspects of membership sales to position the Club as a premier private country club in the region. This position’s critical deliverable is maximizing member recruitment and sales through the strategic development and successful execution of sales and marketing efforts. This includes developing and implementing lead generation strategies, identifying and recruiting prospective members, maintaining a sustainable pipeline of prospective members, and interfacing with realtors on membership programs for prospective buyers and new homeowners.

The Director of Membership provides facility tours, entertains prospects, hosts awareness events for potential members, and manages the new member onboarding process. He/she plans his/her work schedule to be visible and accessible to members and their guests and participates in select community activities to represent and promote the Club. Candidates must be willing and able to work a varied schedule that may include early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Compensation:  The Club will offer a competitive compensation plan, along with standard benefits.

About the Ideal Candidate

This position requires an outgoing and highly personable sales professional with proven entrepreneurial sales experience and a natural ability to network and engage with the membership, community and staff of The Club at New Seabury. Enthusiastic self-starters who are performance oriented with a track record of achieving results against a sales plan with specific goals are highly desired. Candidates should have excellent communication skills – both written and verbal. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience and success in membership recruitment for a high-end property like New Seabury.

Candidates should have a college degree or equivalent education and experience and a minimum of five years of experience in outside sales and marketing, preferably in the hospitality, private club and/or golf industries. Experience working with realtors as well as an appreciation and understanding of the game of Golf is preferred.
