About the Club
The Seawane Club is an upscale private family club in Hewlett Harbor, New York.  Established in 1927, it was originally the estate of John Auerbach and has a rich historical background.  The Club enlisted the services of Devereux Emmet, a renowned golf course architect, to redesign the golf course.  Emmet, known for his work on notable courses like Congressional Country Club, crafted a classic design that offers challenging holes for golfers of all skill levels.  The course is characterized by its lush fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and beautiful water features.

Spanning 130 acres of scenic land on the South Shore of Long Island, The Seawane Club provides a serene retreat just a short 45-minute drive from New York City.  In 2019, the Club underwent a change in ownership, with the new owners committed to providing exceptional services and experiences to the membership.  In addition to the outstanding golf course, the Club offers a diverse range of amenities to its 400 members.  These include a spacious 30,000 square-foot Clubhouse, multiple tennis courts (featuring Har-Tru and hard-court surfaces), a Padel court, pickleball courts, a full-size swimming pool with patio and locker rooms, a pool-side grill and bar, an indoor simulator, a fitness center, and an active social calendar.

The Seawane Club has premier indoor and outdoor layouts for extraordinary events.  The expansive clubhouse offers many room options, including a Living Room adorned with an exquisite bar and multiple fireplaces, and the Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate banquets of over 500 guests with beautiful patio.  The Club hosts a wide range of celebrations as well as Kosher events and the culinary team orchestrates a robust food and beverage program, ensuring guests have an exceptional experience. About the Position
The Director of Catering Sales will be the key ambassador responsible for selling private events at the various available events spaces at The Seawane Club.  S/he is responsible for booking, planning, and ultimately the execution of all events and is the primary contact for the client, managing the relationship and communication from initial contact to event closure, billing, and follow-up.  The Director will promote the Club’s dining facilities for private banquets, business and social meetings, and other member-related activities, meet all event organizers, and guide them through the entire event planning process.

The Director of Catering Sales will develop contracts for and oversee all administrative aspects of events and work in conjunction with the Banquet Manager, Beverage Manager, and Executive Chef to ensure that the guest’s expectations are exceeded.  In addition, the Director will have frequent contact with members, a primary source of potential future events, along with their guests and other clients to ultimately bolster the catering operation.

About the Ideal Candidate
The Director, Catering Sales will ideally have a Hospitality Management Degree or equivalent, coupled with 5-7 years of experience in high-end hotel, resort, or club Sales and Catering.  The next leader will bring a wealth of expertise to the operation and will have the ability to build an appropriate team to support the operation.  Proficiency in industry-standard software tools including Banquet and Catering software is required, Club Essentials experience is a plus.

With demonstrated leadership abilities and an entrepreneurial attitude, s/he will effectively oversee and coordinate a team of professionals while working closely with the Chef and Food and Beverage Director to establish selling prices, menus, and other details for catered events. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills to empower him/her to adeptly navigate general business correspondence, deliver compelling presentations, and confidently address inquiries from managers, members, customers, and the general public.
