St. Andrews’ amenities include a culinary program known for fresh, inventive, and satisfying cuisine. In addition, St. Andrews offers 36 holes of championship golf, including an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Design course and an 18-hole Fazio II Course. The Club also has an extensive, 10,500-square-foot Fitness Center, 14 clay tennis courts, two Pickleball courts, a standalone Spa & Salon, new aquatic center and a state-of-the-art Golf Performance Center.

St. Andrews Country Club dining is open seven days per week year-round.  Gross revenue is $32.5 million with Food & Beverage accounting for $5 million. There are 350 staff members at the height of season and a total of 704 memberships today.

About the Position
The Assistant General Manager will be expected to be highly interactive with the Membership and deliver the goals and strategic plans of the General Manager and Board. Daily interaction with members and the staff is required with the goal of ensuring superior service and quality for the membership.  A visible and accessible presence is needed in all clubhouse areas with a special emphasis in the dining venues.  The Assistant General Manager is expected to “set the pace” as to attitude, presence and demeanor.

The position requires a solid background in Food and Beverage, along with a successful track record and verifiable success in presenting innovative solutions to invigorate overall club member support and usage in a geographic area known for its dynamic and “cutting edge” culinary options.

About the Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate will be a Club professional with a combined 3-5 years Clubhouse Manager or Assistant General Manager experience at a similar, high volume, member owned private club or a highly regarded hospitality environment with proven ability in a member driven/governed organization. He/she will have proven F&B skills, along with a solid foundation of staff recruitment, training and management. In addition, the next Assistant General Manager will have a strong, positive, enthusiastic presence with the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

The ideal candidate will have experience in highly seasonal operations that require an understanding of the dynamics inherent in annual staffing and activity increases and decreases to include staff procurement and training. He/she must have a recognition as a skilled and effective trainer and should be able to consistently realize tangible results as measured by exceptional staff performance and guest/member satisfaction. The next Assistant General Manager will have solid financial and budgeting skills that have yielded verifiable results. In particular, the candidate must enjoy and embrace the challenge of strong fiscal management, while at the same time delivering the quality and range of services and innovative activities for the Club and its Members. He/she must have the ability to lead others to have a similarly high standard and focus.

Ongoing CMAA education is preferred, as is a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration or comparable from an accredited institution.
