About the Club
Located just 25 miles north of downtown Nashville, Tennessee Grasslands Golf & Country Club offers a fully private club experience across two complete, full-service country club properties with each location featuring 18 holes of championship-caliber golf, beautifully appointed yet different clubhouses to enjoy formal and informal dining and events, lakeside pools and fitness facilities. Tennessee Grasslands is the newly named Club for the merging of The Club at Fairvue Plantation (Lakes Clubhouse) and Foxland Harbor Golf & Country Club (Links Clubhouse) in 2018. The Club is privately owned by three partners and has a total of 1,037 members across all categories.

The Club offers golf for the entire family, with very active junior and ladies’ golf programs. Both the Lakes and Links golf courses were designed by Bill Bergin and are open year-round for play, averaging annually 36,000 and 27,000 rounds respectively. Each location has its own Pro Shop, Golf Practice Facilities and Halfway House for on-course refreshments.

Both clubhouses offer informal dining perfect for a casual meal after golf, as well as more formal settings for dinner and special events in the Adelicia Hayes Franklin Room at the Lakes and the Links Main Dining Room, both providing terrific golf course and lakeside views. For private affairs, options include the Andrew Jackson Library and the Gathering Room at the Lakes Clubhouse, and the

Baber Room, Branham Room and Red Room as the most intimate spaces available at the Links Clubhouse. Outdoor dining and event spaces include the Lakes Courtyard, Lakes Pool Pavilion, Links Patio and Links Lawn. Just steps away from the Lakes Clubhouse, four guest cottages provide members and their guests a private alternative to traditional lodging. The cottages have been in place for over 150 years and have been carefully transformed through extensive renovations into complete “suites” for two.

The Club is open year-round with gross revenues of $9.5 million, of which $2.5 million is generated through food and beverage sales. There are 190 staff members in the height of season.

About the Position
The General Manager will report to Ownership and will provide leadership to the management team that includes the Director of Finance, Director of Membership & Marketing, Director of Golf Operations, Golf Course Superintendent, Food & Beverage Director, and Wellness Director. The General Manager will provide cohesion to the team and drive excellence throughout the operation, ensuring a first-class member experience through the development and implementation of a robust member-focused service culture across the campuses. The General Manager will be responsible for expertly managing expenses and identifying opportunities to drive revenues while delivering programming and experiences that resonate with a diverse membership. As the merging of the two club locations was relatively recent, the next General Manager will look forward to evaluating offerings, services, and the operation overall to help crystalize and implement the vision of Ownership, improve efficiencies, shape differentiating experiences across the campuses, and notably improve service.

About the Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have an entrepreneur’s headset who will drive the business like they own it. He/she will be a strong, dynamic leader who with a positive and humanistic style can motivate a team to success and have the ability to effectively “manage up” to Ownership, demonstrating strong communication and relationship management skills. A track record of success in expertly operating profitable food and beverage operations in a private club setting is expected as is previous experience with implementing effective training programs to deliver excellent and consistent customer service. Being aware of trends in the industry will be important to ensure Tennessee Grasslands Golf & Country Club is progressive with its offerings and services, truly making it as its tag line states, “the place to be.” Candidates will not only be excellent operators and will have led successful multiple outlet food and beverage operations in a multi-course and multi-clubhouse environment, but will possess the vision, experience and drive to partner with Ownership to propel the business to the next level.
