About the Club
Tennessee Grasslands Golf and Country Club, or TNG, is a thriving, profit-driven club nestled 25 miles northeast of Nashville in Gallatin, Tennessee. It caters to professionals commuting to Nashville, offering a serene suburban lifestyle. With its mild climate and four seasons, residents enjoy rich cultural experiences.

TNG redefines private club experiences with two meticulously curated campuses. Each features an 18-hole championship golf course, luxurious Clubhouses, lakeside pools, tennis, pickleball, and top-notch fitness facilities. These campuses are the result of merging the former Club at Fairvue Plantation (“Fairvue”) and Foxland Harbor Golf & Country Club (“Foxland”), all under Tennessee Grasslands, LLC’s ownership.

Designed by Bill Bergin, both Fairvue and Foxland golf courses are accessible year-round. They also offer Golf Shops, Practice Facilities, Turn Grilles for on-course refreshments, and multiple dining options. Additionally, Fairvue has historic cottages for lodging, a 9-hole Short Course, a Racquet Sports Facility, and a cutting-edge Golf Performance Improvement Center with TrackMan technology. The Tennessee Grasslands Event Center at Foxland can host up to 275 seated guests for premier events.

TNG boasts a vibrant community of ~1,150 members across 14 categories, drawing diverse individuals nationwide. Nearly half of them reside in the Fairvue and Foxland residential communities, enhancing their sense of belonging. The Club’s gross revenue exceeds $13.5 million, with Food & Beverage contributing $2.6 million and annual dues revenue totaling $6.3 million. The Country Club is investing $16.08 million in a capital improvements program that started in 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2025, which will include Golf course renovations, the newly constructed 7,800-square-foot event center, Clubhouse renovations, the racquet sports facility, and much more.

About the Position:
Tennessee Grasslands seeks a dynamic Director of Marketing and communications to further position the Club as the premier brand in Middle Tennessee. This pivotal role focuses on developing a robust brand awareness campaign and developing and implementing a strategic marketing/sales plan to boost revenue across all departments.

Responsibilities include driving membership growth, overseeing revenue initiatives, and leveraging club amenities for optimal results. Critical tasks involve crafting a comprehensive marketing strategy, managing membership sales and assist in driving event sales, and optimizing advertising efforts. The Director will refine the membership sales process, collaborate with department managers on impactful activities, and ensure efficient reporting. Monitoring results, analyzing budget variances, and proposing action plans are essential to the role. Lastly, the Director will ensure that Tennessee Grasslands is uniquely positioned in this booming region of the country as the premier Club. This position is onsite.

About the Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the Director of Marketing and Communications role at Tennessee Grasslands is a college graduate with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or business administration, boasting a minimum of eight years of experience in marketing and communications. Experience working in an advertising agency is a strong plus. The Club seeks a candidate with a proven ability to develop and implement strategic marketing plans specifically focused on brand awareness campaigns and revenue generation across all departments.

Essential qualifications include a track record in branding/rebranding and successfully embedding brand identity within an organization and the community. The ideal candidate should exhibit awareness and respect for the ambiance, culture, taste, and expectations of Tennessee Grasslands Golf and Country Club members and guests.

A polished and enthusiastic demeanor and demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans and strategies that drive revenue are essential. Strong organizational skills, effective delegation, and follow-up are crucial. Relationship-building, networking, excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills are paramount.

The candidate should also bring experience with advertising management, membership/sales growth, and marketing strategy. Other valued attributes include knowledge of personalized service principles, excellent interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality while representing the Club’s best interests. Proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Office, email communications, CRM platforms, and website content management systems is expected. The candidate should be willing to work flexible hours and travel as needed to promote Club awareness and facilitate visits with prospective members.
