Vicmead Hunt Club | Greenville, Delaware
General Manager

About the Club

Founded in 1920 and incorporated in 1924, Vicmead Hunt Club is in the rural community of Greenville, Delaware in the Brandywine Valley minutes away from Wilmington and Philadelphia. The clubhouse was long ago the farm of Henry Canby.  In 1965, Bidermann Golf Club was established through the combination of Henry Francis du Pont’s original 9-hole Winterthur course and additional acreage.  In 1977, Vicmead Hunt Club merged with Bidermann, a golf course designed by Dick Wilson that is considered to be one of the best courses in Delaware, to become a two-campus facility.  Today, Vicmead Hunt Club Clubhouse serves as a full-service country club and Bidermann as a full-service golf club.

The Vicmead Hunt Club location features a 36,000 sq.ft. indoor athletic center that hosts two hard tennis courts, three squash courts, and a 1,200 sq.ft. fitness center. Other facilities on Vicmead’s campus include a swimming pool with lap lanes, six outdoor Har Tru tennis courts, three paddle tennis courts, equestrian facilities which include a barn hosting 30 stalls, indoor and outdoor riding rings, and riding trails.  Bidermann hosts the Club’s 18-hole golf course, practice facilities and golf shop as well as dining facilities located in the 5,000 sq.ft. Farmhouse. Locker room facilities are provided in a converted barn.

The 10,000 sq.ft. clubhouse at Vicmead is open year-round and features dining and entertainment venues for à la carte dining, banquet facilities, and ample patio spaces overlooking the equestrian paddocks and spectacular views of the countryside. The Club has active family programming and offers food and beverage services except on Mondays. Gross annual revenues of the corporation are projected to be over $5.4 million with food and beverage revenues accounting for $1 million.  Membership consists of 394 equity full privilege members.
