About the Club
Established in 1983, Wexford is nestled amidst 525 acres of Lowcountry landscapes in Hilton Head, South Carolina. It is a highly acclaimed, member-owned boating, golf, tennis and pickleball residential community. The community is home to a 37-acre inland harbour with a lock system (one of only three on the east coast), a distinctive Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course, championship tennis and pickleball center with six Har-Tru clay courts, four pickleball courts and a  pro shop. Other amenities include 24-hour gated security, two swimming pools, croquet lawn, basketball court, children’s playground, miles of bike and leisure trails and an elegant clubhouse. All property owners at Wexford are members of the Wexford Yacht Club, offering reciprocity benefits with other Yachting Clubs of America. Membership at Wexford is reserved exclusively for property owners and is included with ownership. There are 460 properties in the community and approximately 60% of the membership lives in Wexford on a full-time basis. Residents of Hilton Head enjoy a mild, subtropical climate all year round.

Overlooking the harbour, the Clubhouse is the social center for the community and is operational from Tuesday through Sunday. Wexford recently opened an expansive aquatic complex that provides great opportunity for creating special events and dining overlooking the area of the harbour. Members can enjoy lunch and dinner service in the Waterford Room, Sunroom, Pub Dining Room and Bar area. The Golf Pro Shop is located inside the Clubhouse and the pool complex is just steps away.

Annual dues are $7 million, total revenue is approximately $5.5 million with food and beverage generating $1.7 million. There are approximately 100 staff members employed year-round and a total number of 460 memberships today.

About the Position
The General Manager will drive all club operations in pursuit of excellence. Reporting to the Club President and eight-person Board of Directors, the General Manager will look forward to leading a dedicated management team including the Chief Financial Officer, Clubhouse Manager, Marketing & Member Services, Executive Chef, Director of Golf, Director of Greens & Grounds, Tennis Professional, Harbour Master, Maintenance Manager, Infrastructure Manager, and Director of Security. The next leader of the Club will work with the HOA ensuring and maintaining a pristine community to preserve home values as well as the highly regarded reputation of the community. The General Manager will have full P&L responsibility and will partner with the Board to execute a strategic plan. As the Club demographics change, the General Manager will play a critical role in ensuring programming resonates with the different member subsets, bringing them together. The Club enjoys a healthy financial position, and the General Manager will ensure that continued success.

About the Ideal Candidate
Ideal candidates should have 5+ years’ General Manager experience leading complex, well-regarded club operations, preferably with a waterfront component and HOA experience. Interested candidates should be strategic contributors and possess strong operational, financial, and analytical skills and demonstrate a proactive management style that anticipates and identifies the HOA’s present and future needs. The General Manager is expected to deliver balanced fiscal and operating results while delivering a premier member experience. The ideal candidate should be personable and visible in the community and enjoy building member relationships in an active, vibrant, and social environment. Also critical is a track record of success in operating first-class food and beverage operations and driving exciting programming and member events.
