For over 20 years, we have helped manage clubs from the top down and provided consulting guidance as a trusted outside advisor. Tools we deploy in our advisory practice are shown on the right.

Club operating inefficiencies often result from a blurring of board and management roles. We partner with clubs to define the breakpoints that segregate the proper roles of these two groups. Our work in this area includes customized board retreats, creating high-functioning board governance models, developing customized board manuals and board surveys.

Often a board can identify problem areas at the club, but the multi-faceted implications of various solutions may be difficult to foresee. We work with the board to analyze such problems and avoid unintended consequences when a solution is decided on and implemented.

The predominance of our operational review work is focused on a good to great ethos. As your thinking partner, we document a club’s successes while identifying areas of opportunities for improvement.

Our experience in new club development varies from working with developers and private equity from the acquisition assessment phase through build out. In most instances, we continue our relationship as a thinking partner and team member.

We utilize the Employee 360º Diagnostics tool to identify who in your management team is highly collaborative and who’s not on the bus.

When clubs have an opportunity to expand operations through acquisition, we analyze fully the financial, operational and even cultural implications of undertaking such a move.

Surveys that determine how members view various aspects of club operations—dining, golf, tennis and spa—can help management identify areas where changes are needed to keep members happy. Surveys are both retrospective and prospective to help club leaders shape the future.

We work with clubs to implement performance management that results in all aspects of their operations working together in an optimum fashion. We help clubs embed this process in day-to-day operations to ensure that goals are consistently being met in an effective and efficient manner.

"Club Thinking Partners was the perfect partner for us in our search for a General Manager.  Dan and Alison are incredibly knowledgeable in the private club industry, and took time to understand our club structure and culture in order to bring us the candidates they felt would suit us best.  They led us through the search process providing guidance and insight which allowed us to find the perfect match.  We are thrilled with our new GM and wouldn’t be here without CTP!"
