About the Club
Established in 1924, Orienta Beach Club, offering an incredible view of Long Island Sound and located in the bucolic village of Mamaroneck, New York, has evolved into a venerable non-profit, private sanctuary in Mamaroneck, New York, providing a unique blend of Racquet, Swim, and Beach experiences. Celebrating its Centennial this year, the Club transcends being merely a facility; it stands as a haven where members discover a home away from home.

The Club’s profound history echoes through the decades, evidenced by the extensive renovations to all aspects of the Club. The most recent gem in the Club’s repertoire is the redesigned outdoor terrace dining venue, completed in 2022. A comprehensive Master Plan unfolding over five years is underway, encompassing a multi-million-dollar pool renovation, pickleball courts, and various enhancements to elevate the membership experience.

The commitment of Orienta Beach Club extends beyond providing terrific amenities to ensuring the sustainable stewardship of its surroundings. The Sustainability Committee, established in 2019, directs the Club in implementing eco-friendly initiatives that benefit both the planet and the community without compromising the membership experience. Proudly participating in the Healthy Clubs initiative, Orienta Beach Club exemplifies dedication to environmental responsibility.

The Club’s amenities cater to various interests and age groups, promising an inclusive and enriching experience. Members and guests enjoy a paddle and tennis complex featuring four heated courts, a paddle hut for social events, ten Har-Tru tennis courts, and various swimming pools, including a heated dive pool. The Club is on beautiful beaches with a swim and marine pier. Members retreat to the Cabana and Bathing Complex to relax and indulge in culinary delights or beverages at various venues, including the seasonal Waterfront Pavilion, the beautiful outdoor terrace, the Dolphin Bar, or the Seasonal Tiki Bar.

The Club also offers diverse programming, including a junior summer program, children’s day camp, tennis, swim and dive teams, and sailing. Off-season, members enjoy an ice skating Rink. Orienta Beach Club’s commitment to excellence and sustainability ensures a timeless sanctuary for current and future generations.
Gross revenues exceed $7.5 million, with food & beverage revenues of more than $2.2 million with annual dues revenue of $3.7 million. There are 460 members.

About the Position
The General Manager at Orienta Beach Club is the operational linchpin, translating Board-established policies into action. Responsibilities include budget preparation, management, and oversight post-board approval. The General Manager drives seamless operations by coordinating with committee chairs and consulting with the President. The GM fosters a family-centric environment, promoting hospitality and goodwill and leveraging a competent and committed staff. The primary goal is to optimize the membership experience. As the daily face of the Club, the General Manager forges member relationships based on genuine care while prioritizing an excellent working environment for the staff, fostering respect, fairness, and growth opportunities. The salary range for this position is $220,000++.

About the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a passionate hospitality leader who prefers private club experience in a similar-scale, seasonal, and cultural setting and loves connections with members and their families. Candidates with proven success in luxury resorts or comparable operations will be considered. This candidate should demonstrate expertise in managing waterfront operations and adeptly adjusting staff ratios and business strategies based on seasonal fluctuations. A track record of selecting, developing, and motivating service-oriented staff in a high-end, seasonal environment is crucial. Strong credentials in Food and Beverage and a history of developing and growing programs, controlling costs, and meeting budgeted goals are essential. Demonstrable experience in delivering superior service levels in a resort or private club setting is necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital, as the General Manager plays a crucial role in member interaction and personal recognition.

A four-year college degree, preferably in hospitality management, is highly desirable. The ideal candidate is outgoing, enthusiastic, motivated, respectful, diplomatic, ethical, a team player and motivator, and adept at effectively managing staff. The ability to identify, recruit, and retain high-quality seasonal staff is critical. A driver of outstanding private events programming for members and non-members completes the profile of the sought-after General Manager.
