The Old Course, originally designed by Walter Travis, was ranked #4 in Pennsylvania in 2024 by Top100golfcourses.com and is consistently recognized among the Top 100 Classic Courses by Golfweek. The Club is actively engaged with architect Brian Schneider to guide future golf course stewardship and capital planning.

About the Position
The General Manager reports to the Club President and the Board of Directors and serves as the Club’s Chief Operating Officer. This is a highly visible leadership role charged with overseeing all aspects of Club operations, financial performance, staff culture, and member experience.

The Board has elevated this position to serve as a change agent, focused on strengthening clubhouse operations, advancing governance best practices, elevating service standards, and aligning the overall operation with the excellence of the golf program. The General Manager partners closely with the Board, committees, and leadership team to further develop and execute the Club’s strategic and capital plans.

What You’ll Do
• Lead all Club operations, including golf, food & beverage, facilities, membership, and administration
• Serve as a visible, approachable leader to members, staff, and governance
• Drive exceptional member and guest service across all departments
• Develop and manage operating, capital, and cash-flow budgets
• Strengthen governance structure, committee effectiveness, and policy alignment
• Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing leadership team
• Oversee capital improvements and long-term facility planning
• Elevate food and beverage quality, consistency, and programming
• Implement SOPs and industry best practices across departments
• Represent the Club professionally within the community and club industry

Ideal Candidate
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive private club leadership experience, including General Manager level
• Proven success working with Boards and Committees on governance and strategy
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting expertise
• Demonstrated leadership in food & beverage operations and member satisfaction
• Experience overseeing capital projects and long-term planning
• Clear, confident communicator with the ability to manage up
• Professional, visible, and member-focused leadership style
• Analytical strength and project management capability
• History of training and developing high-performing teams
• Ability to balance respect for tradition with new ideas
• Strong work ethic and comfort operating in high-volume environments
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; CCM, CCE, or similar credentials highly desired
