About the Position
The Director of Finance serves as a key member of the senior leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, human resources administration, insurance administration, and information systems oversight for the Club.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Director of Finance works closely with Club leadership, department heads, and the Finance Committee to provide strategic financial guidance and ensure the organization’s long-term financial health. This position offers the opportunity to play a significant role in financial planning, capital project oversight, technology initiatives, process improvement, and organizational decision-making.
The successful candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented financial leader who combines strong technical accounting skills with strategic thinking, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to service excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all accounting and financial operations of the Club
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports
- Partner with department heads to improve financial performance and accountability
- Manage payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory reporting, and fixed assets
- Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Oversee banking relationships, cash management, and financial safeguards
- Support capital planning, cash flow forecasting, and long-term financial strategy
- Administer employee benefits, insurance programs, and HR-related compliance functions
- Lead technology and accounting system initiatives across the Club
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to support management decision-making
- Supervise accounting staff and foster a culture of professionalism and accountability
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA, CHAE, or similar professional certification preferred
- Minimum of seven years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience
- Private club, hospitality, resort, nonprofit, or related experience preferred
- Strong financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Experience with accounting, financial reporting, and club management software systems
- Human resources and benefits administration experience
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities
- Strong integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Ability to serve as a strategic business partner to the General Manager, Board, and department leaders
