Great Harbor Yacht Club | Nantucket, Massachusetts
General Manager

About the Club
Great Harbor Yacht Club (“GHYC”) is one of Nantucket’s premier private clubs and the heartbeat of summer life on the island. Founded in 2003, the Club has established itself as a destination where generations of families gather to sail, dine, compete, celebrate, and create lifelong traditions.

Situated directly on Nantucket Harbor, GHYC operates two distinct campuses that together deliver one of the most comprehensive private club experiences in the country. The harborfront campus features dining venues, social spaces, waterfront programming, a 31-slip marina, and an active sailing fleet. The Racquet & Swim Center includes nine Har-Tru tennis courts, four pickleball courts, a squash court, aquatics facilities, fitness amenities, and extensive junior programming.

GHYC is known for its warm, anticipatory service, highly engaged membership, and family-focused culture. Members move seamlessly from sailing races and waterfront activities to racquet sports, fitness, aquatics, dining, and social events, creating an active and vibrant club environment throughout the season.

The Club operates on a highly seasonal rhythm, with primary operations running from late spring through early fall, peaking in July and August. Success requires exceptional execution across every department simultaneously, creating a dynamic and rewarding leadership environment unlike almost any other private club operation.

As a member-owned institution, GHYC offers a unique leadership opportunity where governance, member engagement, hospitality, and operational excellence intersect. The successful General Manager will serve as a trusted partner to the Board while building meaningful relationships throughout the membership.

The Club is also home to the Great Harbor Yacht Club Foundation, a separate nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and improving the health of Nantucket Harbor and its marine ecosystem.

For the right leader, this is far more than a General Manager role. It is a rare opportunity to lead one of America’s premier waterfront clubs in one of the country’s most desirable coastal destinations while becoming an integral part of the Nantucket community.

Located 30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod, Nantucket offers an unmatched coastal lifestyle. The island is known for its world-class sailing, pristine beaches, historic charm, exceptional dining, and vibrant year-round community.

Families enjoy outstanding schools, abundant outdoor recreation, and a quality of life that is increasingly difficult to find elsewhere. Nantucket combines sophistication, authenticity, and community in a way few destinations can match.
